We met with the help of an amazingly intuitive friend... Rosalynda. Back in August of 2011, Rosalynda was invited by her friend Monica to celebrate Bret's birthday. As she listened and watched that night, she started to see all the qualities that Rachelle, her single friend, had been looking for. What qualities, might you ask? Well, Bret would say it was his, "complete awesomeness," but it was actually his good humor, friendliness, and incredible good looks (according to Rachelle).

It would take some awkward phone calls and a few months, but by October of that year we were smitten.  Together we enjoyed concerts (Beady Eye, Coldplay, Florence and the Machine), traveling to different running races (Sacramento, Chicago, Rotterdam), sporting events (UNR basketball, 49er games, Giants and Aces games) and watching our favorite shows on TV (Boardwalk, Modern Family, Shameless).

Today we still enjoy concerts, traveling, running, watching sporting events and TV, but we have also added new passions to the mix. Rachelle fullfilled her bucket list to become an Ironman triathlete with Bret supporting her the whole 14 hours. Bret ran his first marathon in Rotterdam. And together we have our fantastic dog Pacer, who you will all meet at the wedding.

We tried our best to make our wedding small and simple. That is easier said than done, but we look forward to having a wonderful day with the people we love and cherish in our lives.

The ceremony will be officiated by our matchmaker Rosalynda in Rachelle's parents' backyard.

The maid of honor, Deb Zalokar, and bridesmaid, Robin Johnston, will stand by Rachelle. Deb has been Rachelle's running partner, travel companion, and best friend for many years. Robin will come back to Reno from her new home in Indiana to support Rachelle as well. Robin started as her lead mentor teacher and transitioned into her invaluable friend.

The bestman, Chito Torres, and groomsman, Rene Ayala, will stand with Bret. Both Chito and Rene go way back with Bret to grade school and their Hug High School days. Today the three continue to torment each other as they compete for #1 in their fantasy football league.

We also have three young ones helping us in our wedding. Rachelle's godsister Gretchen's daughter, Isabella, will serve as the Flower Girl and son, Brock, will help as Ring Bearer. Our wedding would not be complete without Bret's nephew, Cade, who has graciously agreed to escort our dog Pacer down the aisle.

After the cermemony we hope you will follow us down the hill to the reception at Lakeridge Tennis Club.
