Curtis and I had our first date on 11/28/11 after meeting online.  After 14 months, we are now engaged, and we couldn't be happier!  How it happened:  Curtis decided to take me on a weekend beach vacation, and rented a very nice condo in Dunedin, FL near Honeymoon and Caldesi Islands.  I had a rough week, as I just lost one of my pets, and work was very busy.  Curtis explained to me that we were going to take a short break from life to relax which was a wonderful idea.  After we settled into the condo, we took a trip to the grocery store to get some wine and food for dinner.  We wanted to have a picnic on the beach around sunset, so we gathered some plastic cups and snacks, and we were on our way to Honeymoon Island.  I remember that the sun was about to set, and Curtis seemed a bit uneasy about missing the sunset.  When we got to the beach, we found a bench on the sand, and I started preparing our dinner.  Curtis was starting to get upset that the clouds were covering up the sunset, but when I pointed out the sun rays coming through the clouds were like being touched by God, Curtis got very happy again. What I didn't know, was that Curtis had found out that my Nano John and Nana Elena got engaged at the very place we were now visiting.  Curtis asked me if I knew the significance of Honeymoon Island to my family, and I said no.  He started laughing because he really thought that I already knew what was happening.  He got down on one knee, and I started the ugly cry..and of course I said YES to being with him forever.

Our wedding ceremony is set for January 18, 2014 under the beautiful oak trees of Woodmont Park in Temple Terrace, FL.  The vintage themed wedding reception will immediately follow our ceremony, across the street, at the Temple Terrace Country Club.  There will be dining, drinks, dancing, and good times for all.  Please join us and celebrate our new lives as Mr. and Mrs. Vognet! We love our new families, and have incorporated both sides into our wedding party.  All three Maids of Honor are dear cousins of the bride: Alexis and Angelica Sotolongo and Martinique Busino. The groom's Best Man will be his brother, Chris Vognet.  The accompanying groomsmen are the bride's brothers: John and Matthew Oliva.  The flower girl will be the lovely Ms. Delaina Benton.
