Most of you probably already know how we met but we love sharing the story, so here it goes:

I was on my way to a Sharks game after work.  As usual, I was rushing to get there to meet up with my hockey friends.  I was waiting in the left turn lane when my car suddenly dies!  The light turns green and I frantically try to start my car (over and over) and nothing happens.  Meanwhile, cars are honking at me and going around me.  This happens for 2 entire light changes.  At this point, I start to get out of my car when I see 2 men approaching me.  One of them (my future husband) asked me to get back into the car and said he would push my car for me to get me a safe spot.

I jump back into my car and the two men proceed to push my onto the other side of the street.  I thanked them profusely and immediate got on the phone to call AAA for assistance.  A few minutes later, I see both men drive by so I waved at them and continued to talk on the phone to the AAA agent.  Then lo and behold, both men parked their cars and started walking towards me.  They approach my window and said that they wanted to push my car to a safer location and off the street.  At this point, I was dumbfounded!!  How can these perfect strangers not only help me once but TWICE in 5 minutes!  Amazing!  So, they pushed my car into a nearby corporate parking lot.

This time, I dug through my purse and dug out some money.  All I had was a $100 bill (I must've just gotten back from a casino).  :-) I asked them if they knew each other and both shook their heads.  So, I handed them the bill and told them to find a way to split it.  Both of them threw their hands up in the air and declined to take the money.  I then offered to buy them lunch, drinks, dinner...SOMETHING to thank them for their chivalrous and selfless act!  They both agreed and we exchanged contact information.

They both got back into their own cars and drove out of the parking lot but not before one of the men blew me a kiss as he was driving off.  Can you guess which man it was?  :-)  Yep, it was Dominic!

Of course, I was so frazzled about getting my car towed, finding a ride to the Sharks game to meet my friends that I didn't pay much attention to his attempt to flirt with me.

About a year into our relationship, we knew we wanted to get married.  But we never discussed timing.  Dominic just knew that he wanted to ask my Dad for permission for my hand in marriage.  A few months later in February 2012, out of the blue, Dominic asked me to call my parents to see if they were free for dinner that night.

Inquisitive me asked, "WHY??".  Dominic non-chalantly said, "because, we haven't been over there for dinner in awhile and I miss them."

That was logical enough for me so I called my parents to set the time.  When I called my Mom to ask her if she and my Dad were free for dinner that night, my Mom responded with, "Yes, WHY?".  I wonder where I get it from!!  Haaa!

So, as we are on our way to my parents house, I notice that Dominic is unusually quiet.  I asked him why he was so quiet and he said his stomach was hurting.  Hahahahaaa.  I thought nothing of it because that wasn't unusual.  :-)  Oh, he's going to kill me when he sees this.

We arrive at my parents house and begin socializing.  In traditional Filipino form, the women stay in the house/kitchen to prepare the food while the men go outside to enjoy some libations.

Since, I am NOT traditional, I make my way towards the backyard where Dominic and my Dad are and I notice the look on their faces were serious.  As if they were in deep discussion, so I made a u-turn back to the kitchen area.

A few minutes later, Dominic comes into the house and sits next to me.  I asked him what was happening outside and he responded with, "I asked him."  I said, "you asked him what??"  He said that he asked my Dad for my hand in marriage.

I then said well, what did Dad say?  For those of you who know my Dad, he is not a man of many words.  His response to Dominic was..."Does Judith know?" and of course, my dad gave his blessing.  I know I am missing some of the details of the exchange that Dominic and my Dad had so you'll have to ask one of them the next time you see them.  :-)

After Dominic told me that my Dad gave his blessing...I immediately turned my body to face to Dominic and blurted out...Well????  Dominic said, "well, what?".  I said "WHERE IS THE RING?"

(Did I mention that I am not traditional??)  He pulled out the ring, placed it on my finger and there you have it.  We are engaged!
