Amer & I couldn't be happier to begin our celebration of marriage. We have been dating for a little over three years and owe it all to the amazing kickball team THE SHOCKERS. So it all started with kicking and catching balls, followed by an intense game of flip cup at the bar, and the rest is history. We feel luckly to be surrounded by so much love in this time of preparation and craze. We can't wait to celebrate with all of you as we begin our new family together. |
So, after 3 years of dating, and what Amer probably considers a moderate amount of pressure from me and family, Amer bought a ring!! Then we were doing a regular Thursday night in the summer crab feast at Amer's sisters house. Amer and Mike were in the back yard steaming up the crabs... Neely and I were just getting things together and ready to eat. Amer's mom showed up, which struck me as slightly strange.... but I went with it. We poured the batch of crabs on the table, I picked the perfect first crab out, while Amer tried to talk me into eating a different crab. He said, "Kelly, I think you want this one." I replied with my typical smartass comment, of "I got one Amer." This went on for a while, until I realized this special crab Amer was talking to me was wearing my engagement ring, and Amer was on his knee asking me to marry him.. and of course I said yes!!

Amer & I are getting married at an out of the way manor in Bluemont, Viriginia. It's perfectly placed among the moutains and just perfectly suited for our outdoor wedding. My Aunt Janice will marry us outside (if we are LUCKY!!) in the beautiful gardens on the last Satuday evening in April. We will then go inside the gorgeous manor for fantastic food, and a dancing celebration to remember. We can not wait.
