Dave and I had talked about getting engaged and with him leaving for military training which would include months at a time where we couldn't even talk to each other there was NO WAY we were going to get engaged and then him leave! ( or so I thought) He didn't want to get engaged and then take off and getting engaged was going to be our clutch and our special something to look forward to while he's gone! Dave had me absolutely fooled! With it being weeks away from him leaving we decided to make every night we had together a date night. As we walk out the door for another date a limo pulls up right in front of me and a giant teddy bear looking guy gets out and runs around to open the door for me! Dave waves him on saying sorry man not for us. I give Dave a hard time that some other guy is totally showing him up and got his date a limo. I tease where's my limo at! So we drive to The Cotton Grill, that I've been dying to try! Cute sorta upscale artsy restaurant with brick walls and on a lake, just love it! They seat us on the deck next to a water fountain in the lake, it's sunset outside and beautiful! There's live music and no one else on the deck so Dave asks me to dance which was so sweet and so fun! We sit down and the waitress brings over this giant sized gold ring with tribal markings and a ripped up piece of paper that says will you marry me! lol! I tell her sorry that's not mine and she laughs and says woops I don't know why I walked out here my bad. I tell Dave there's probably no one on the deck because everyone is here for an engagement! I started getting emotional with Dave leaving and having such a nice night together and I know we are going to have to go a long time without nights like this. I tell Dave and our waitress I'm jealous of the girl inside. I talked about how I would want to get engaged exactly like this! I am looking forward to when he comes home to me! We eat amazing food and wine and then our waitress returns saying ok I have the right one this time and sets a little black box in front of me! I look up to see Dave and he's already on his knee in front of me! He says everything you could ever hope to be told at that moment and opens the box with a stunning ring inside! I was completely shock! I said yes as I was already balling with happy tears! We hug and kiss as I realize the whole restaurant is clapping and taking pictures! I tell Dave I have to call my sister so we are hurrying to get out of the restaurant I cannot wait to call her! Then dejavu happens and as I step out the door a limo pulls up right in front of me and the same guy gets out and runs around I'm like heyy... and the guy has a big smile on his face! And I realize the limo is now all decorated and says just engaged on it! Too funny so at my apartment was a setup renting out the entire deck a setup it's all coming together and I don't think it can get any better. So I slide in the limo didn't even notice it was dark I press send to call my sister and HEAR her phone ring!! They flip the lights on and yell surprise and my limo is covered in roses and rose petals! There are champagne glasses with bow ties and vail on them and glittery shot glasses that say bride and groom! My sister hugs me and puts a sash over me! I'm so happy and so stunned it was my surprise engagement party! The driver took us to The Melting Pot for dessert and they were expecting us and had a card for me that everyone signed. Then we went to the rooftop bar onto of the Sheraton hotel which was beautiful you can see the whole city and had live music! Finally we ended the night where Dave and I had our 1st date in south Carolina together, Jillian's! An enormous night club almost pool hall with concerts going on, let's just say I had an amazing night! One I could never forget! I am so fortunate for all that Dave put together for me and I could not have dreamt it better!
