Matt and Kristen met a little over 4 years ago. Her friend, and bridesmaid, had invited fellow classmates, including Matt, over to her house after their evening class. Kristen came home after a long day at class and work, none to pleased that there were unexpected party guests on her porch. Matt and Kristen immediately hit it off though. Kristen couldn't get Matt to go home, even though she had to be at work early the next morning. Kristen and Matt became friends and saw each other casually until they began dating in August of 2010. Kristen and Matt had a long distance relationship after he accepted a job about an hour away, while Kristen continued her Master's Degree. When Kristen graduated and found a job in the same city, she moved in with Matt. Since then, they have relocated, with their dog and two cats to Virginia. |
Kristen and Matt had scheduled a vacation with 4 of their friends in the Outer Banks over Labor Day weekend in 2013. Prior to vacation, Matt had been planning on proposing to Kristen, but got a once in a lifetime opportunity when her custom designed ring was ready earlier than he had planned. He asked Kristen's parent's permission to marry their daughter. They both happily said yes. Matt then had to hide his plans from Kristen, which included hiding the ring in her own car, while they packed for vacation. Upon arriving in OBX, Matt told their friends of his intentions and they worked out a plan. One evening, the group of friends decided to go take pictures at the end of a gazebo that overlooked the sound of the OBX. While they were there, Matt got down on one knee and popped the question. Of course, Kristen said "yes" while her friends captured the moment on video. They then celebrated with dinner on the water.
Their wedding will be held at the Keith Albee Theatre in Huntington, Wv, where Matt and Kristen first met. The wedding will be held on October 18, 2014. They will be accompained by their friends and family to celebrate the joyous occassion. |
