| | Well, things never began as a fairytale, but Steve was my prince charming from the start! I am happy to say that Steve came to me with one of the most unique gifts I have ever received on a first date... a Honeycrisp apple! Knowing about my teaching career, and one of my favorite foods, he came to my door apple in hand and looking quite handsome. We planned to go to lunch that day and enjoyed lots of laughs at Nordy's BBQ. I have never felt more comfortable with someone and right away it felt as though we were best friends already! A quick lunch date turned into coffee and board games, then dessert and a movie! Although the date was not like those you see on "The Bachelor", it was one of the best dates I have ever had! I could not have asked for better company! With that, it was the beginning of the end... of Steve's and my single days! | | Kristin is a teacher for a fifth grade classroom at Centennial Elementary. Although her job constantly provides new challenges, she absolutely loves it! She was blessed with a school that is rich with diversity, Much of the population is made up of students who speak a language other than English for their first language.
In addition to teaching, when Kristin finds the time, she enjoys spending the days with her two dogs. Together, they find new adventures outdoors. Most of all, Kristin loves hiking with her favorite hiking partner, Steve. Kristin also enjoys making crafts, decorating, and re-vamping unique finds from the flea markets around town.
The one word Steve would use to describe Kristin is..."Soulmate - because everything that she is combined makes us meant to be". | | After graduating college, Steve pursued a career in law enforcement. He currently works for Jefferson County Sheriff's Department as a deputy. His job also presents extreme challenges... one of those is the distance he has to be from his future wife.
When Steve isn't working, he can be found on his Mountain Bike on local trails. His love for the outdoors is the perfect match for Kristin! When he has the opportunity, Steve spends many chaotic moments with his two favorite pooches! They keep him quite busy patching holes and fixing the yard. However, despite the problems they bring, you can also find Steve snoozing with Roxilla on the bed!
The one word Kristin would use to describe Steve is ... "Generous - because he always puts me and his family before anything else!" | | As we fell more in love, I couldn't help but recognize that Steve was the man I was meant to be with! We constantly share so much laughter and love that I couldn't imagine finding someone I was more compatible with. I was one lucky lady when he proposed on June 12, 2012. After a lovely dinner at the Melting Pot, he took me to a romantic getaway filled with candles, champagne, and a gorgeous... DIAMOND RING! I was so overwhelmed with excitement, that I instantly said "YES!" with tears in my eyes, knowing this was only the beginning of a beautiful life together!
Things then moved quite fast from there! Within the summer of our engagement, we adopted a crazy puppy from the shelter. Boy has she been a handful! After that, we put an offer on a cute little home in Thompson River Ranch. After a long battle with home negotiations, our offer was accepted! We are now the proud owners of two amazing dogs and a gorgeous home! We can't wait to build our lives there! | | We couldn't ask for better family and friends to celebrate our love with at our upcoming wedding! Our special day will take place on October 12, 2013! We plan to wed at my family church, in which my parents and sister both tied the knot!
Our reception will be at the Big Red Barn where the fun and celebrations will continue! |
