I can still remember the first time I saw Ben. We were both at a conference and he found out that I was from Boston or something….but he came up to me and asked me (GET READY) can I braid a flower into his hair. At first I thought, ok this man is crazy, but I must have been the crazy one because I did it. We were both in San Francisco and there is an old school 70’s song “If Going to San Francisco” and it talks about wearing flowers in your hair. I had never heard of this song until that day but hey, you learn something new every day. Ever since this conference Ben and I have been great friends, this was back in 2004. Since 2007 we took our friendship to the next level and we decided to become partners in life. This journey has taken us to many places and many new adventures and has only given us a chance to grow stronger and more unified. It is now 2011 and we are about to take the biggest step in our lives, together.
The fact that we both are involved in community and labor organizing, should tell you a lot about our dinner conversations but in reality we are brothers and sisters in the movement for social and economic justice, we have been friends for many years and as we have learned to grow with each other the love we have for one another has grown. Together we have grown, learned, shared and sacrificed for one another and now we are ready to become one before our Higher Power, friends and family to share this moment with us for life. |
Our wedding day is a day to come together with the people we love to share a precious part of our lives and memories together. We want this day to be a day of celebration, fun, unity, sharing, dancing and more.
We honor those who can make this day and create a special occasion for Ben and I as we hold hands and together say I Do.
Join us as we become one in mind, body and soul and as we create a new chapter in our lives.
Food, Drinks, Fun and of course bring the kids…this is about them having fun too! |
