Welcome

(Laine) December 6, 2010 was the day we met and it almost didn't happen. I asked for her email and when I copied it, there was a "." on the end, so every time I tried to send her an email it would come back. I kept trying and trying, copy and pasting is never wrong, right? I decided to re-type it and it worked. After Skyping, emailing and texting for several months, it was time to  meet her mom. I drove to Kentucky, met her mom and interviewed for a job. Two months later on June 3 2011, I moved to Richmond. Since then I have come to know and love Valerie and her mom immensely. I didn't know with that first email what would eventually happen, but here we are about to be married and share the rest of eternity together.

(Valerie) Yes, so, while the emails were getting kicked back, other messages WERE getting through. Laine originally contacted me and I replied early in the morning before leaving for the day. When I returned several hours later, I had at least 5 messages from him. My first thought was: "Great, another crazy..." After I opened the messages and saw what had happened I was looking forward to finding out more about him. (Indeed, he did turn out to be a tad 'off'. I like that.) It seemed right away as if I had known him all of my life. The only way I can describe it is that Laine has all of the best qualities and traits of all of my most favorite people. The people I have met who I most admire, love, respect and enjoy being around. Laine has turned out to be all of those to me and more. I am so very blessed!

(Laine) For those who know us at all, it is apparent  that we are not your average pair of ducks. So would you expect that our wedding would be anything short of "different"? There were talks of getting married on a schooner in the ocean, then one day Valerie came across BB River Boats. Water, boat, central location for my family and our Kentucky friends. It was the perfect venue and location.

We board the Riverboat at 8:00 pm and our good friend and brother Eric Stanley will be conducting our wedding discourse at 8:30 pm. The boat departs at 9:00 pm. Next, a 4 hour cruise on the Ohio River during which time we will be celebrating with a full course dinner, open bar, music and a candy buffet for all to enjoy!

(Valerie) One of the things Laine and I have in common is we have lived a few different places. Thus, many of our closest friends and our family are at a great distance geographically. We know it's not possible for everyone we love to be with us in person on December 31st. (Especially since we didn't give people much notice.) And yet, another thing Laine and I have in common is we enjoy road trips and other forms of travel. So, we look forward to when we DO get to spend time with you!
