Our first date was at a restaurant in Irvine, CA. I was very ill at the time but I refused to cancel. So with my runny nose and persistent cough, I rallied to the occasion and I'm very glad I did. Laura looked beautiful. We proceeded to have a lovely time talking and getting to know each other. After dinner we both knew we wanted to meet again.

We continued dating on a regular basis and after about two months, Laura asked me if I would join her on a trip to New York City to visit her sister and brother-in-law. I know what you're thinking. Is it too soon for a trip together?? Well, it turned out to be a brilliant idea because I had already met Laura's mother, and Laura's father and his wife met us in NYC. We took a day trip to Pennsylvania to meet my mother and sister. And on our way back to NYC we spent the night in Stroudsburg, PA where I reunited with the old band and got to rock out for my new sweetie and hang out with some old friends. So we both met each others' family and discovered that we all get along and we have a great time.

Since then, Laura and I visited Santa Barbara, New Orleans, Pensacola and Spain. We also spend time with our friends and enjoy all the things that Southern CA has to offer, i.e., wine tasting, trips to the beach, bike riding, etc.

In September, 2010, Laura and I went to Spain. By that time I had fallen in love with Laura and I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her so I decided to propose to her in Spain. I bought an engagement ring, which I stared at all night just to exchange it the next day because I knew the first one wasn't right. I carried the ring with me to Spain and held onto it day and night until the time was right. So this is how it went down. It was the third day in Barcelona and we woke up early to tour the city. After walking 10 miles, we sat down at a side street cafe for an afternoon lunch. We ordered a glass of vino pinto and some Tapas. I was extremely nervous. I said to Laura, "What do you think about getting married when we get back home?" Laura was a little annoyed with the conversation and she said, "You're not ready for that." I said, "That wasn't a suggestion, it was a question. Will you marry me?" Then I told her I've been carrying something with me and I took out the ring. I put it on her finger and asked her, "What do you think?" She said, "It's nice!" I said, "No, what's your answer to my question!" I could tell, she was in shock. She said yes!!

When we returned from the best vacation ever, I moved in with Laura and everything has been wonderful since. This has been the smartest thing I ever did!
