It was a beautiful sunny weekend at Ocean Beach and all our local friends and their families decided to gather on the sand and enjoy this wonderful day together. Monique was the new girl in town and Kit had heard about her and felt the need to meet this mysterious "South African". Monique was told that there is this man who lives here in the "Sunset" who has traveled to South African many times and loves this area called the Transkei. In that moment, I said, " I have to meet this man". Transkei is a very sacred place where I have spent most of my child hood. So we met on this sunny beach day surrounded by friends, and it was love at first sight. Four years later Kit planned the perfect day and asked Monique to marry him in Transkei, South Africa while on holiday. She said YES !!!

The wedding venue is located on a 3.5 acre lot, surrounded by lush tropical trees and manicured landscaping. The "Wedding House" is situated on this land and has everything a guest could want. This is where the wedding attendants and family will stay. This house features an infinity swimming pool, tennis court, spa/jacuzzi and has private beach access. All guests who plan on staying in Hawaii for the week or weekend is REQUIRED to make themselves at home and to feel free to come and spend everyday here at the house and enjoy what this magical place has to offer. Our ceremony will take place on the bluff-top overlooking the ocean at 3:00pm, June 8th, 2008 (Please arrive at 2:30pm) on Kauai in the area of Kilawea. Monique and Kit plan on Staying the whole week, til June 14th...lets all hang out !!!

We ask that our guests to wear casual hawaiian attire, ladies will be given flowers to wear in their hair. Shoe are optional. After the ceremony we will all enjoy the surroundings while sipping on tropical drinks, listening to local hawaiian music, signing the guest book, viewing and taking photo's and tasting yummy our'derves, to tie us over till dinner. Dinner will be served on the outside lawn overlooking the ocean and surrounded by candlelight.
We'll top the evening off with some serious dancing and good laughter, desert and more music.
When arriving at the house, please park your car ourside of the gates and not inside the premises.
The night will be over when the last man dancing falls over.

Kauai's airport is in Lihue. You will fly into lihue for the departed destination. At the airport there are several rental car companies to choose from, Avis, Budget, Dollar and you can even find rent-a-wreck on the island too. From the Airport you will head North to the North shore of the island heading towards Princville. Kilawea is before Princeville on the left by a gas station and mini market, just after you cross a large bridge. The Princville Hotel is the closest, nice hotel to the wedding venue. There are other more affordable places to say nearby too. See our official wedding wedsite for a list of places to stay, local activities like golfing, surfing, hiking, helicopter tours and more. The weather tends to be "drier" but still lush and tropical and very hot during the month of June but you never know, rain storms occur dayly so bring something waterproof.
