We met in early 2002. I lived with my Mom in Potomac Heights Apartments in Fort Washington, Md and one of Carlos' close friends lived in the same complex. Los, that's what we call my future husband, introduced himself to me and we "dated" for a short time that year. Although we later decided to stop dating, we remained friends and kept in casual contact. As fate would have it, in the summer of my senior year at the University of Maryland "Fear the Turtle", Los saw me near his neighborhood and gave me a call. We talked and hung out together several times and "officially" started dating on July 4th, 2005.
The Proposal.... At the stroke of midnight Christmas 2006, I had fallen asleep watching a movie, as I usually do...when I awoke Los was down on one knee and I had a ring on my finger. He proposed and of course, I said yes and then went back to sleep. I actually thought I had been dreaming until I woke up and saw the ring! I was so excited.....
