Our Story

We were brought together through our love for skating. We met at United Skates Skating Rink in Tampa, Fl and we shared our first skate in early August of 2007. Two weeks later, August 21, we shared our first conversation on myspace, yahoo messenger, and by telephone. Needless to say we talked ALL NIGHT! We decided courtship would be most appropriate to officially get to know one another. Our relationship became offical October 21, 2007. During the dating period, we lived in separate cities (Octavia/Orlando, DeAngelo/Tampa) in which we traveled back and forth quite frequently to spend time together. It was my 30th birthday, Sunday, September 7, 2009 at 12:30 a.m. in the presence of family and friends that I accepted DeAngelo's marriage proposal.

The proposal was certainly an unexpected surprise! My friend Nichole had planned a weekend long celebration for my 30th birthday in which she invited my parents , sisters and several friends. It was such an exciting and eventful weekend. We ate dinner and partied on Friday, had breakfast, went bowling, attended a surprise decades (70's, 80's & 90's) birthday party followed by dinner at Houlihans on Saturday. I was certainly exhausted by the end of the night. As I was preparing for bed I was informed that the night was not quite over. There was a slide show DVD presentation along with a couple of games, which was a lot of fun. One of the games that was demonstrated was "pin the tale on the Ducky" It was during my turn while I was blind folded and searching for the duck when DeAngelo secretly got down on one knee with the ring in hand. I was spun around 3 times and was taking directions from my friends while DeAngelo placed himself in my pathway before I got to the duck. All the while, I was still unware of my surroundings and the anxious audience. While blindly feeling for the duck I found myself touching the top of DeAngelo's head. I took of the blind fold off and looked at him in total surpise, then looked at the ring. He then asked me to marry him. I was so excited, the word YES could barely leave my mouth. I was over joyed but did not want to cry so I just hugged him. This delightful event was also recorded for us to watch and enjoy all over again! This will always be a memorable birthday for me and the best birthday present ever!
