From the Groom's Perspective
She's My Ruth
Let me tell you the way I seen it.When the Lord revealed Larincia to me I was finally starting to be at peace with being single. But then I started hearing the Lord telling me that I can't do what He's called me to do by myself any longer, I was going to need a helpmate.
Over the summer I saw Larincia at a few outreaches. I thought she was very nice but I was trying not to pay her a lot of attention being all super spiritual because other guys were asking me if I seen the new girl and I would tell them to stay focused on ministering. As the school year began, I started noticing Larincia's love for God and it drew me to her. I kept my eye on her throughout the year. Then after one chapel service I had to give a word of encouragement to the student body to make sure they were serving the Lord by reaching out to their community; needless to say, it was good but Larincia treated as the greatest word she had ever heard and while everyone clapped she was the only one to give me a standing ovation. Her gracious gesture of clapping for me really stood out and caught my attention. I told myself I need to see what this woman is really about.
Later on that week I had 3 or 4 other people ask me if I ever considered talking to her. I thought this to be rather strange but it caused me to really want to know what it is about this woman that makes her stand out not only to me but to others. One day after class Larincia passed by my office to go to the computer lab as she was leaving I started up a small conversation with her (remind you that we had spoken many times before). I walked her to her car and asked her if she would like to go get some lunch. Now if you know Larincia you know she can be very serious at times and after pondering for what seemed like forever she said " Um,Well you do owe me a cup of coffee."
"Okay" I said 'how about we meet for coffee." With a little roll of the neck she told me "I don't drink coffee." Okay this is not going to be easy I was thinking. What do you say to that? I mean it had been a long time since I had even attempted to talk to the opposite sex and I ain't gonna lie my game was very rusty and dusty. So as I was about to give up and change the subject. She says " I do drink tea though" stuttering I said " t-t-tea, tea, yeah, yeah I know a great tea spot" knowing that I had never been to a tea shop a day in my life. I told her about a little coffee shop I knew of praying that they would serve tea, they did, and of course Larincia ordered a strawberry smoothie there. And the rest as they say is history. To this day I'm still trying to figure Larincia out, and it's been an awesome adventure. She's been my greatest supporter, advisor, encourager, prayer partner and best friend. And that's the way I see it. I love you Babe!
