Charlie and Hannah met briefly in 2005 at a church event. She thought he was the cutest guy she had ever seen and he thought she was gorgeous. They didn’t see each other again until 2007 when Hannah ran into an old friend that Charlie was hanging out with that night. Charlie and Hannah began to talk as he helped her shop for her brother’s present. One night the next week Hannah received a text message from their mutual friend (or so she thought). He was asking her what she thought of Charlie and she told him that she thought he was very cute and seemed sweet He told her that Charlie was single and asked if she wanted his number and she told him to give him her number. She later found out it was Charlie texting her from their friend’s phone. Charlie started to text Hannah a few times throughout the week (on his phone this time) and after a few weeks she started to attend his church on Sunday nights. They started to spend a lot of time together but remained only friends. After a while they slowly stopped calling or seeing each other. A few months went by and Hannah started to think about Charlie so she called him to see how he was... Luckily he was still single... they started going to lunch together when she would get out of her classes during the week and he helped her repair her car many times. They never went passed being friends but they both had strong feelings for each other but kept it to themselves until the night Charlie left for basic training when he told her he was in love with her. Hannah was in such shock that she didn’t say anything back. After a few weeks she had realized she felt the same way about him but she had no way to tell him because in basic training you aren’t allowed to use your cell phone. She received a letter from him and he reassured her that he loved her and she wrote him back and told him she felt the same way. They wrote letters to each other as much as they could and on occasion Charlie would get to call her. Charlie proposed to Hannah on Christmas of 2008 on the way to Alabama for his family’s Christmas party. Hannah was so shocked she didn’t even say yes she just hugged him and told him she loved him. Later during the day he pointed out that she never answered, so she finally said yes.
