Tamika Battle & Wayne Parker

Our Story

Like everything else in Tamika’s life, I found out about Wayne Anthony after the fact. Whether she likes to admit or not she nurtures everything and everyone in its infancy before bringing it forth into the harsh light of day. She likes to make sure that whatever and whomever she chooses is strong enough to stand alone; stand up to our scrutiny (and laughter) and thrive. So when I met Wayne-Anthony I was excited. I knew that if he basked in the sunlight; he had made it to the lightning round!

Tamika and Wayne met in a place that I have frowned upon in the past…online. Just kidding! They met at work. Being two very private people, they had to be very discreet and keep their romantic involvement a secret (at least until one of the two found a new job). It was very mysterious, very "cloak and dagger" and lots of fun. Most of all, it has been a lesson to us all. The lesson for me has been that you never know where you are going to find love and to be open to all of the possibilities. In Wayne-Anthony we are gaining a brother who loves and respects our sister dearly and to whom we have the same affection. He is spiritual, compassionate, a great father who I know unequivocally will make a great husband. So here’s to you, the original Beyonce and Jay: much love and success going forward on this wonderful journey.

Congratulations
