Cesilia Camacho & Caleb Monroe

Our Story

Caleb and I met in high school, February 2006, not exactly sure of the date. But it was at breakfast and I had just walked in. I sat down and said hi to my best friends, Sabrina and Flor, Caleb was talking to them. He would talk to them often but never seemed to notice me or say hello. He turned to me and stretched out his had and said “Hi my name is Caleb. I’ve seen you around but haven’t had a chance to introduce my self.” And every morning after that he would come around and hang out with me and my friends at breakfast. He had art class with Sabrina and Flor. But we really got a chance to get to know each other because of el Cinco de Mayo celebration, which we were having for the community. I needed a partner and I asked a group of friends if they would be interested in being my dance partner and Caleb volunteered. We had a blast and I believe that is when Caleb started having feelings for me. We kept seeing each around school and at breakfast, but it wasn’t till after graduating that we started dating.
Two years latter on our second year anniversary Caleb proposed. I had no idea that he was going to propose. I thought we were simply celebrating our anniversary we had planed go to Seattle for dinner and then after, stroll through the rose garden at the woodland park zoo. He surprised me by first treating me to a day at the spa, he took me to the Lynden front spa, where I got a nice massage and had my first manicure and pedicure. It was a wonderful present. After we went to eat at a Mediterranean restaurant, it was funny because we didn’t really like what we ordered but we ate it anyways. Then we went to the rose garden and walked around and took pictures. Caleb had planed to propose in the garden; however we were running out of time and decided to wait till we got to my house to pop the question. When we got to my house we walked to my house and he pulled me aside to a spot were we have had some meaningful discussions and after telling me how much he loved me and wanted to be with me, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so surprised and happy, and of course I said yes, almost every one knew, but we got a chance to tell our friends the fallowing Sunday.
We plan to move into a home or an apartment in Lynden and enjoy the gift that the Lord has given us and then from there follow his direction.
