Catherine Crosby & Dennis Payne
Our Story
"Let God lead your footsteps. We often try to create our own paths, but if we really trust God, God will take us further than we ever dreamed." Mr. Evan Porter.
I was always a step behind. He moved from Bremerton just before I visited my sister for the summer. He left Payne Theological Seminary just before I arrived. We both lived in Payne Village #7 (at different times). I had just left Bellevue when she arrived to receive the appointment to pastor Primm...and I was there when Catt made her first report. I still remember what she was wearing - a champagne and ivory suit. I was assigned to the Pacific Northwest (Ebenezer) and God allowed our paths to cross. She didn't like me then...but now ;o)
When it is right, you can try to fight it and even try to deny it, but in the end, love will have her way. For me it was love at first sight. Catherine was lost in her own world so it took a minute - once Cupid's arrow struck my heart, it was over. I fell head over heels in love with Dennis and wanted the world to know! "I never knew love like this before..."
We started dating February '05 -- I said, "Yes" to Dennis' proposal while atop the St. Louis Arch, last July (hightlight of the General Conference). The view was awesome and I was scared outta my mind...I didn't know if it was the height or proposal that made my heart race - must have been the height cause whenever I think about spending the rest of my life with Dennis, my heart flutters and then it skips a beat.
"Catt is beautiful on the inside and out...No one knows me better than she does and I have the rest of our lives to shower her with love and affection."
