Amber Musial & Brian Smith

Our Story

About us:

Both of us are born and raised Boise. ID. Brian works for a local company as an IT manager. I work at the fabulous Beehive Salon as a stylist part-time and attend Boise State University full-time.

How we met:

We met over 7 years ago working together at McGrath's Fish house. I started out as a server and dabbled in some bar tending and managing. Brian started out as a bus boy and then moved into serving. I remember training him his first day of serving. He seem so shy and quiet. I was afraid that he wouldn't talk to the tables. We had worked together for about a year when I had invited Brian to my roommates and my birthday party. (I have to admit, I invited him because I thought he was pretty cute) I was shocked when the shy (well so I thought) and quiet young boy I worked with made his first move with a kiss. All I could think of was "OMG I'm kissing a 19 year old!" From that moment we started hanging out and talking on the phone a lot. About three weeks later I asked Brian if we were dating exclusive "Sure, we can date" and here we are 6 years later! It's been such an amazing journey to get where we are today. Had you told me back then that I would be marrying that shy, quite bus boy I would have never believed you. It's sounds cheesy, but I truly feel that I have found my other half who completes me :)

Our Proposal:

It couldn't have been more perfect! Easter has always been a favorite holiday of mine (Amber). I was born on Easter and my mom had always made it a big deal, you know with bunnies, spring flowers and chocolate. Knowing this, Brian chose this day to pop the big question. My mom and I had just landed back in town from our Mexican cruise. I came home to a clean house, a beautiful spring bouquet and a big Easter basket full of candy and a cute stuffed bunny. Brian seemed a little fidgety and told me to "really get in there" not having much more to look at in the basket I pulled out the grass to find four eggs with the words "Will you marry me?" written on them. In shock I asked "Are you serious?" I think he was just as shocked by my question as I was with his, he asked if I thought he was playing a joke. "Yes, I'm serious!" I was so excited. "Yes!" The sweetest part was that my dad was in on it too. When Mom and I were on our cruise Brian went over to my parents to ask my dad for my hand. With some information on the many caliber of guns my dad owns he said yes ;) We have been together for a long time and always knew we'd be married some day, but I truly never expected such an amazing proposal.
