After graduating high school, both Nick and myself started working at Chemeketa Community College. That is where my father introduced us to each other. We were really not "friends" and didn't spend any time outside of work together. Over the next three years both of us would work different jobs and lived our lives with out each other.
In December of 2006, some co-workers of our fathers were getting married. Nick was one of the only people my age at the wedding, so we hung out the whole night together. It was that night I noticed how hansom Nick was. We exchanged numbers and he didn't speak to me for about two weeks. I then invited him to a local concert, he went, and didn't speak to me for another two weeks. Finally in early February, we went on our first "real date"! We have been together for about four years now.
We are best friends and I wouldn't want anyone else in his place. He asked me to marry him at the Capital Building in Sacramento, CA right after his 25th birthday. It may have not been romantic but it had every bit of Nick written all over it. |
