I remember it like it was yesterday. It was the summer of 2004, me and my girls were hosting a hotel party. Marlon being my best friend's cousin was there as well. He and I ended up talking and the conversation just kind of took off.

Well after the party we said good-night and that was that. But not the end.

The next day I got a call from non-other than my best friend saying that her cousin, Marlon, asked that she give me his phone number. With thoughts running through my mind, like “Why didn’t he ask for mine himself” I told her it’s cool and took his number. I gave him a call that day, and it was the beginning of something special.

Marlon and I were together for 4 years, until we took what I like to call a "3 year hiatus" LOL. But trust and believe Marlon didn’t let me forget him, he’d come up with anything just to call me, not all the time, just every so often.

Weellllll the summer of 2012 we ended up “talking” again as just friends, HA! (as if) but our “souls” wasn’t trying to hear “We're Just Friends” and neither was Marlon. He told me one specific day, “There will be no boyfriend/girlfriend between us we've done that already, If we are going to be together again, YOU WILL BE MY WIFE” Well what is a sista supposed to say to something like that?

We spent a lot of time getting to know each other all over again, we found that we’ve both changed and matured a lot and I must admit, sometimes the second time around is way better than the first!

I was at one of my cousin parties and I saw this young lady and we started talking. She then asked me to fix her a drink and as I was making her drink, she then said never mind because I might put something in her drink. I looked at her and laughed and told her I'm not that kind of guy, we kept talking the rest of the night.

Then next day I asked my cousin to give her my number and as we all see 10 years later, we're getting married.
