It was Christmas day 2013, Marlon & I and some of our family went visiting other family & friends throughout the day. We ended our day of visiting at my Uncle Jimmy & his wife Sheila’s place with a lot of other family & friends.

At one point, my mother stood in the middle of the floor and says she has an announcement to make and she needed everyone’s attention. She talked about a bowling outing that she was hosting on that coming Saturday and everyone was welcome to join her. She then said she had another announcement to make, then out of nowhere, I see Marlon get up and start coming toward me, and I’m thinking what is he doing. I then see a small silver box in his hands and at that moment when I realized what he was about to do, he was getting down on 1 knee in front of me and proposed.

Til this day I don’t know exactly what he said because of all the yelling, and hollering from the family, and because I was shaking and crying with my hands over my face. When I was able to gather myself just a little bit, I heard him say “So what is your answer?” I screamed out YAAAAAASSSSSSS YES YES YESSS!!!

It was one of the most happiest moments in my life and I will NEVER forget that day! Oh how I love me some him!

I talked to Mother Dear (Deatrice Mother) and asked for her blessings in asking for baby's hand in marriage. We came up with a plan of how and when the proposal would take place. It was Chrismtas day 2013, we knew it would be a good day and family would be around. I asked Deatrice to marry me, but she couldn't hear me, I asked her what her answer was and she said yes.
