Bride

We met at a club called the Post in Los Angeles.  Most of my family and friends know that I love to dance. The song called “Steppin in the Name of Love” by R. Kelly came on and I wanted to Cha Cha and told my sister Diane what’s wrong with the men here?  They were holding the walls and rails up!  I am a lady and I believe a man should ask the lady to dance.  So I look around the room and saw this fine man and I looked his way as he was looking  my way, then I did something I’ve never had to do before.  I got up and went over to him (didn’t won’t too, out of my character) and said “excuse me this is my favorite song and I don’t normally do this, because I’m a lady and I don't believe I should be asking,  but this is my favorite song, Do you know how to Cha Cha?  His response was yes!  I said are you sure because if we get out there and you don’t know how, I’m going to walk off the floor?  He smiled and said "I don’t think I would embarrass you", so we proceeded to dance.  The first dance he did okay, he asked me how was he doing.   I said "you’re doing okay" he said "that’s good because I would hate for you to walk off the floor".  We continued to dance three more songs he was/is a gentleman and he walked me back to my seat and offered me a drink.  After a little conversating I went into my business mode, I gave him my card and asked if you ever have a need to purchase or refinance a home give me a call.  He said "wish I had met you three weeks ago I just refinance my home".  I said "maybe in the future if you have a need for my services give me a call".  Two weeks later I get a call from a man, he said “Hello this is Sam the guy you challenged to Cha Cha” and the rest is history.  Best friends, dance partners, lover and soul mate.

My future husband for life...

Groom

The evening started out with my brother Gary and I going to a social party at the Crystal Rose Club.   There was food and music but few available ladies to dance with.  Most of the people were coupled off and the music was not that great.  So after a while Gary and I decided this wasn’t the party for us, so we decided to head home.   Since it was still fairly early, too early to go home, we decided to go by the Jackie Robinson Post for a drink and check out the people.   I was standing with a drink in my hand when this exquisite well-dressed lady approached me and ask for a dance and indicated this was one of her favorite songs.   It was a song that had a Cha-cha rhythm.  She wanted to know if I could Cha-Cha before we headed to the dance floor.  I indicated I would give it a try knowing all along I loved to Cha-Cha.   Once on the dance floor I asked her name and how was I doing.  She said “Eddicia” was her name and I was doing okay, but I could tell by the smile on her face I was doing great. We danced a couple more songs before departing the dance floor.  Back at her table we discussed her real estate business.   I said possibly we can do some business in the future.  She gave me her business card.   Couple of weeks later I called her just to stay in touch.  We ended up going on a date and the rest is history.
