First, I have to give a huge shoutout to my amazing family and Future in-laws for keep the BIG SECRET. Also more making sure that my nail,hair, and outfit was on point when I said "YES".The way Pat involved my family and planned everything out was confirmation yet again that he is the ONLY man for me.

     Every year my grandmother has her annual cookout at her house Labor Day weekend but because we live in Virginia now I haven't been able to attend. This year we decided that we would attend. After dinner, my sisters randomly told me to come up stairs with them and this is where the distraction began. After some time, the door bell rings and my sisters ask me to walk down with them to see who is was. I was still confused at this point so I failed to realize while going to open the door that people were no longer in the house. As I walked out of the door I was surrounded by all of my family and close friends. At this point, I am beyond confused until...Pat walks out of the circle and says "Do you know what this is"? I said "No" he then says "look around this is your moment... What you've wanted". He drops on one knee and I become hysterical at this point.

    What made this moment so special is that a few months prior Pat and I had a conversation discussing my "ideal" proposal. Where most women prefer a dream trip with a big ring... I couldn't think of anything specifics accept that I wished that my grandparents would be able to witness and share the news of my engagement. Anyone that knows me knows how important my family is to me and I am blessed to be marrying into a family that is just as loving and supportive. 

    Needless to say I Said YESSSSSSSS. After taking thousands of pictures i was finally able to sit down and process what had just happened. Pat walks over with his phone that had a pre recorded video of my BFF Deneen congratulating me and admitting she knew the whole time! Word cannot explain how happy I am to be marrying this man...Officially counting down the days.
