Bride

On June 6, 2016 we took a trip to Cape Cod for the weekend. Every trip we had taken that year, I was anticipating Taylor popping the question. Whenever the trip would be over I would be confused and left wondering when he was going to ask! So, the day before this particular trip I asked Taylor, "Can you just tell me if this is not the trip? Because I want to enjoy myself and not be sad that you didn't ask!" Taylor replied with, "No, Abby. This is not the trip. Sorry." and so we went on our merry way to Cape Cod. We did our usual Cape things, ice cream, coffee, a trip to the Chatham Squire for some popcorn shrimp and Cape Cod Beer. Taylor suggested we leave, go back for a beach walk and night swim. When we got down to the beach, Taylor was acting very nervous and awkwardly hugging me. I noticed his heart was beating so fast and loud that I could actually hear it while sitting next to him! He brought me down to the water and I finally asked him why his heart was beating so fast. He said, "That's because I have a question for you!" he popped down to his knee and pulled out a ring we had looked at together months prior. It was perfect!

What Abby didn't know until after was that I had the ring shipped to my best man's house so she wouldn't see it! Basically everyone knew except for her. If you know Abby, you know she is the hardest person in the world to surprise. She picks up on everything! I hid the ring in the spare tire compartment in her Jeep for the trip up. I was snapchatting all of our friends leading up to the big moment, and accidentally sent one to Abby! Luckily, she didn't open it until after I asked! I guess this was the trip after all!
