Bride

Every Labor Day Weekend we go camping in upstate New York.  The only way I got Kevin to agree to marry me on Labor Day Weekend was to promise him we could always go camping and not force him to go on any "sappy" anniversary vacations!  That's why I love him.  The simplicity of life when I am with him.

Coming back from camping this year, we went to the Goshen Fair, which was also our first date ever!  After we left the fair, he asked me if I wanted to do something else before we went home, I agreed.  So, Kevin had this great idea.. which sometimes scare me, but I went along with it anyways!

He took me to Mount Tom State Park to hike the trails to the tower at the top of the mountain.  Of course, I wanted to take the trail that looked less traveled, and we ended up practically scaling this mountain.  As you can tell by the shade of red my face was in that picture, it was a bad idea!  I recall saying to him, "there better be a pot of gold at the top of this thing!"  When we got to the top, I got something better than a pot of gold, a ring!  After taking in the breath taking views for a while, it started to rain.  Kevin suggested we headed back, I turned around and there he was - ring in hand and asked me to marry him.

Of COURSE I said yes, and that is how we got here!
