The Ceremony will be as unique as the couple themselves. Asherah and Adrian will be pulling from their many respective heritages both of ancestory and spirit; including Scottish tradition, Norse, Hindu, Jewish, and Pagan. The Ceremony is called a handfasting.
Handfasting is a traditional European ceremony of betrothal. The term is derived from the verb, to handfast, used in Middle to Early Modern English for the making of a contract of marriage. The term is originally from the Old Norse, hand-festa, "to strike a bargain by joining of hands." Or a translastion from German, "Hande fest halten" that is to hold hands firmly and fixedly.
