Bride

It happened just like everyone said it would: when I least expected it. In December 2010, I had given up on dating. I was about to turn thirty-three, and my life was full of good things -- a wonderful job, great friends, loving family and plenty of service opportunities including working with the high school kids at my church. When the (Ray says I should insert the word "handsome" here) student pastor from my church asked me to dinner on Sunday December 19, I hardly imagined that my life would change that night.

We met at a restaurant on Brickell Avenue at 8PM. Four hours later, the conversation hadn't stopped for a moment and the wait staff was imploring us to leave since the rest of the place had emptied out already. It was the most amazing non-date (that's what I called it then) I had ever been on. I knew that night that I was going to marry the inspiring pastor who sat across the table from me, which is why I stole a coaster from the table --  I needed something to mark the occasion!
