Bride

“It has made me better loving you ... it has made me wiser, and easier, and brighter. I used to want a great many things before, and to be angry that I did not have them. Theoretically, I was satisfied. I flattered myself that I had limited my wants. But I was subject to irritation; I used to have morbid sterile hateful fits of hunger, of desire. Now I really am satisfied, because I can’t think of anything better.”  -Henry James

We had gone to dinner at Red Robin and had a nice big meal to celebrate our 6 month anniversary. During the dinner, the topic of marriage had come up and Jonathon had stated "I don't know why people worry about getting married. What does it matter? If you were both already committed to each other then what would it matter if you get married." I was in complete shock. I had thought we were on the same page but here he was saying he didn't know if he would ever want to get married. Needless to say, it was a quiet ride home.

When we got to the house, I went in to change. When I came out Jonathon asked if I wanted to have some popcorn. I thought, "We just had a huge meal, how can he still be hungry" and told him no. He then asked if I would make him some. Completely perplexed, I walked over to the pantry, but when I went to grab the popcorn, there sitting on the shelf was a box with a light shining on the biggest ring I have ever seen. I turned around in shock and there was Jonathon down on one knee. With tears in my eyes, he asked if I would spend the rest of my life with him and of course I said yes.
