On the night of August 25th 2017, Daniel asked Dulce if she could wake up at 4a.m. the next day to leave the house at 5a.m. (keep in mind she is NOT a morning person). She began to ask questions like “Why?” and “Where are we going?” All he replied was “Please trust me, it’s a surprise for your birthday!” She decided to trust him.

The next morning, she woke up early and they drove up to Temecula CA. The whole ride there she kept guessing the surprise hoping his facial expresions would give it away. Daniel didn’t give any clues. After the hour drive, they pulled up into a beautiful winery where they were picked up by a bus that drove them to hot air balloons being filled up. As the sun was rising, Dulce couldn’t believe her eyes. A photographer came over to them and said he would be joining them on their private hot air balloon ride. They jumped into the hot air balloon, popped a bottle of Champaign, and cheered to an “UP UP AND AWAY.” As the ride continued, they both were laughing and taking life in to the most beautiful sunrise, overlooking a landscape of wineries.

It was about half way through the ride that Dulce looked down to read a HUGE banner rolled out on the ground with the words “MARRY ME?” She looked at Daniel and then back to the sign and back to Daniel and asked, “Is that for me?” (She didn’t want to be the crazy girlfriend that said “YES” and it not had been for her.) He nodded his head Yes, and knelt down on one knee and said, “I love you to the moon and back, will you marry me.” With tears of joy, she said “YES!” (WHEW). The pilot yelled out “SHE SAID YES!” and you could hear all the other hot air balloons cheering. Once the ride was over, they landed to Dulce’s family and friends waiting to celebrate their new adventure to come!
