As most of you know, Dave and I met at work. For any of you that don't know, Dave and I both work for the City of Aurora. Dave is a Fire Fighter/Paramedic and I am a Police Officer. Who would have thought, a hose dragger and a copper living happily ever after...
Five years ago I quickly learned that as a female officer there are very few places that are "safe" to take a restroom break. As a brand new officer the fire crew at Station #11 welcomed me in, allowed me to use their facilities, offered me snacks and drinks, etc. Station #11 quickly became a safe haven for me to take my lunch and bathroom breaks.
Three and a half years ago Dave and I met at Fire Station #11 after he returned back from Paramedic school. We became fast friends and soon after became an inseparable couple. For those of you that know Dave well, you probably know he's one of the funniest people you'll ever meet. Dave's sense of humor and carefree attitude drew me in from the start. Dave and I knew from the time we met that we had found something special in each other.
Over the years we have shared our ups and downs, but mostly the past 3 and 1/2 years have been some of the best moments of our lives! We have travelled together, worked together, created a wonderful group of close friends, and established a strong platform to continue to grow from. We are both so exited to continue our journey together as a married pair! |
