Have you met the bride yet?  Let me introduce myself!

Well, to start off, I was born in September of 1991 in Ishpeming, MI. That's right, I am a true Yooper!  In 2010 I graduated as a Negaunee Miner, and four years later graduated from Northern Michigan University (NMU) with a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.  Things took a turn one year after I graduated college, and I was accepted into Western Michigan University's Master's program for Vision Rehabilitation Therapy with plans to graduate this December 2017!  

I grew up playing softball, fishing with my dad (without touching the worms or the fish), and as an only child, that's right, Stephen is not inheriting any sibling-in-laws (not sure if that's good or bad)!  I fell in love with 80's music and film, because let's just admit that nobody beats Def Leppard and everyone wishes that John Hughes could direct their life.  I like spending time playing board games and card games, but I rarely play Monopoly with Stephen anymore (that's a story I can share with you at the wedding).  I love coffee and reading for fun, and absolutely love Christmastime, more than any holiday and even my birthday!  I come from a HUGE family, my grandpa (papa) was the youngest of 16, so I have family all over the U.S.  I'm sure many of you reading this are football fans, and you may be disappointed just a little bit...because I am a proud Vikings fan!  Stephen is a Packer fan so us living under the same roof during football season...well I'll just leave that up to your imagination.  

There is so much I could tell you, but I think I gave you the basics, after all you never know everything about a person after the first time you meet them.  You will also have the opportunity to meet my family on the "Family & Friends" page, they are a fantastic bunch and the guaranteed life of the party at the wedding.

My name is Stephen but feel free to call me Steve. I’m originally from Ford River, which is just south of Escanaba on M-35. I graduated from Escanaba Area High School in 2007 and enlisted in the Army shortly after. When my enlistment was complete I decided to pursue a college degree at Northern Michigan University. This is the place where I met Emily and the place in which we share so many fond memories. I received my acceptance letter to the Michigan College of Optometry shortly after we met. For the past three years Emily and I have called Big Rapids, the town that houses MCO, our home. 

A little about me…

When I’m not bogged down with my studies I enjoy being outside. In the summer you can find me playing with our dog Colt outside, fishing or target shooting. When the leaves change color I take to the wood for hunting and during the cold winter months I’ve been know to try my luck at ice fishing.
