One of my favorite things about our relationship is how comfortable we are together doing simple things in life.  We don't need bells and whistles for dates or our day to day life.  That is why I love how nate proposed to me, because that is exactly what it was..a proposal and not a performance.

I had been out of town for the weekend and when I got home I went upstairs to unpack my bag.  I heard Nate yelling from downstairs that something was wrong with Willow's (our adorable golden retriever) collar.  Since she had been with me on the trip I got defensive and said "what are you talking about nothing is wrong with it!"

He brought her upstairs to our bedroom and said something along the lines of "no look, there is something on it."

At that point I turned to look and saw a piece of yarn tied around her neck.  I ripped it off and didn't notice until seconds later that there was a STUNNING diamond ring attached. 

It took me a minute to process and then before I knew it Nate was down on one knee asking me to marry him.

I said yes! We officially became engaged September 2nd 2013.
