Bodie and I met at a good ol' Oregon Duck football game! Go Ducks!

Starting from the beginning: I met Bodie while he was tailgating at his first Duck Game. Some people believe in love at first sight well this wasn’t necessarily the case for us. (You might know what I’m talking about if you ever had the pleasure of hanging out with him at some of his first Duck games) Bodie may have fallen in love, because he seemed to follow me around like a lost puppy dog. (Persistence really does pay off) At the time I was playing hard to get, and I actually tried to pawn him off on one of my friends. Oops. He did somehow manage to get my phone number and stayed in contact with me here and there. He would text me every once in a while inviting me to group events, but at the time I always thought I had something better to do. I wasn’t looking for a relationship or boyfriend at that time in my life. Fast forward a year and I bought my first house. It needed tons of work done to the yard. I can't remember if he called me or I called him (he probably called me) to help me with cleaning up the yard, but the point of the story is he came over and helped me with some yard work free of charge! After a long day of working in the sun, we went to a little dive called Sonny's for our first date at burger and brew night. We talked about everything! The conversation was never dull with Bodie. I was really starting to like him, but couldn’t let it show! We continually started to hang out more and more, and the more we got to know each other, the more I realized how much alike we were. I knew there was something more than friendship there, even though I told Bodie that I only wanted to be friends. His smarty pants response back then was, “Do you want to be best friends?” The funny thing is that we spent every day together and a few months later, we really did become best friends. We moved in together and since then everything has been great! We bought a new house together, rented out my old one, had a baby boy (Ryder) and life really couldn't get any better. I’m glad Bodie never gave up on me and can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together. -Genny

Bodie bought a ring and was planning on proposing to me on November 5th, our anniversary of when we first started dating. I kind of broke the news to him around October 20th that I was pregnant. He had all these plans to take me to Belknap Springs which is my favorite place. We couldn't go there because I couldn't swim in the hot springs with a baby in my belly, so he had to come up with a new plan. He took me to breakfast at The Vintage. This was where we had our first formal date. Then we caught Wreck It Ralph at the movie theatre and went furniture shopping afterwards. I was so exhausted by this time because I was in my first trimester and my body was just done for the day. We went home and I laid on the couch to take a little nap because I wanted to get rested since Bodie apparently had some other activities planned for the evening. Bodie couldn't believe I wanted to nap and I remember him saying "I will just go grab a beer then.” By this time, I was half asleep with my face dug inside the couch. You know that feeling you get when you feel like someone is staring at you? Well I felt it. I turned around and Bodie was right behind me on one knee and instead of a beer in his hand he had a little brown wooden box! I was in such awe, I only remember bits of pieces of what he said. After he proposed, I couldn’t sleep!

We have put some ideas we would like to do in Maui but ultimately money would be awesome so we can have the freedom to choose a little more of what we want to do while there.
