| | | My name is Venise Nicole Estrada. To those of you who haven't met me yet, it is my pleasure to help you get to know me a little better. I look forward to getting to know you better as well.
I was born in August of 1990 at a military hospital, on Royal Air Force Base Mildenhall, in Bury Saint Edmunds, England. My Mother, Cammy, is an Air Force Veteran. In the Air Force she worked as a Service Specialist and often prepared meals and desserts for her fellow airmen. Like my mother I too have a passion for serving others, cooking, baking, decorating, the arts, hiking, nature, astrology, and self-expression as well. I grew up in San Diego County and have lived in several different cities. I currently live with my Mom, two Daughters, and two younger Brothers in a very nice townhome in Santee. I am so blessed to have the family, friends, and of course my Muffin too, that love me, that I love so much back.
After graduating from High School in 2008, I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted for a career. Since then I’ve worked part-time jobs, while being a young mother, and didn’t find my calling until a couple years ago. While figuring things out, I earned a certificate in Baking and Patisserie from Le Cordon Bleu in Sacramento CA and I completed an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program at Miramar University in San Diego CA. I am currently pursuing an Associate’s degree in General Studies and will transfer to a 4-year school late next year after I graduate.
I currently work for Costco and am glad because it is definitely a step up from where I was before. I am very excited for the near future because I'll have earned my 1st Associate's and Bachelor’s degree, and will be much closer to becoming a Geologist. To be successful in my dream career: I plan to work as an Administrative Assistant, volunteer or work in Parks and Museums, be an intern, earn a Master's degree, and earn a Teaching credential.
I am a proud mother of two beautiful girls; Gabrielle, 8, and Janelle, 5. If you hear me or my family members call the girls "Gabby" or "Dee Dee", it's because that's there special nicknames which they prefer only us to call them by. It wasn't until not very long ago that Jesse was allowed to call them by their nicknames, and I'm so glad that he is.
According to my responses in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality inventory, my personality type is INFP. Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Prospecting. A good summary of INFP is: “Idealistic, loyal to their values and to people who are important to them. Want an external life that is congruent with their values. Curious, quick to see possibilities, can be catalysts for implementing ideas. Seek to understand people and to help them fulfill their potential. Adaptable, flexible, and accepting unless a value is threatened" (Myersbriggs.org).
According to Dr. Gary Chapman--Author, Counselor, and Pastor--the Five Love Languages involve how each person receives, interprets, and gives love. According to his book, The Five Love Languages, and the online assessment, my top 3 love languages are: 1) Physical Touch, 2) Acts of Service, and 3) Quality Time. |
 | | My name is Jesse Alan Bevis. To those of you who haven't met me or don't know me so well yet, it is my pleasure to help you get to know me a little better. I look forward to getting to know you better as well.
I was born in May of 1986. I am from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am the youngest of my parent’s four sons. As a kid I loved to ride my bike, hang out with cousins and other neighborhood kids, watch cartoons, draw, read, write poetry, and play basketball with my brothers and their friends.
After graduating from High School in 2004, I worked a few jobs until deciding that the best course of action was to join the military. I chose the Navy. In October of 2006 I left for Basic Training in Great Lakes, IL. In March of 2007 I reported for sea-duty at the United States Ship Chancellorsville (CG-62) in San Diego CA, with the rank of E-1 Seaman Recruit.
While a crew member of the Chancellorsville, I deployed three times to the Western Pacific Persian Gulf (WestPac), gained diverse competencies, and achieved the rank of E-5 Second Class Petty Officer. In December of 2011 I reported for shore-duty at Aviation Support Division (ASD) on Naval Air Station North Island. There I experienced being a work-center supervisor, mentor, admin clerk, and divisional training program manager. During my shore-duty tour I acquired a passion for administration, mentorship, management, training, and leadership. I got out of the Navy in July of 2015.
In the Navy I worked as a Logistics Specialist (LS); essentially providing materials, administrative/clerical and training support to fellow crew members whom operated/maintained the ship and its systems. I currently work as a Supply Technician in the Civil Service sector. I am lucky to be still working for ASD, but in a different building and capacity.
In May of 2017, I graduated in with a B.S. in Technical Management (specialization in HR Management). I am currently enrolled in M.S. in Strategic Leadership program, doing well, and am on track to finish by the end of this year. In the next few years I hope to achieve both professional certifications and a teaching credential. I see myself working for a few very good organizations, being a teacher or trainer, and starting up my own consulting firm.
According to my responses in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality inventory, my personality type is INFJ. Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging. A good summary of INFJ is: “Seek meaning and connection in ideas, relationships, and material possessions. Want to understand what motivates people and are insightful about others. Conscientious and committed to their firm values. Develop a clear vision about how best to serve the common good. Organized and decisive in implementing their vision” (Myersbriggs.org).
