Bride

Rob had been saying for months that he wanted to go to Brookgreen Garden to see the Night of a Thousand Candles with me. When tickets went on sale we snatched them up quick! I had never been there before and he had never been there with a girl. The day of we planned on getting dressed up, getting something to eat, and going to see the lights; a real date night! Being December 3rd, it was pretty cold outside. I had worn a long sleeve sweater dress and heals with a pea coat. While walking around and admiring all of the beautiful lights, my hands began to get very cold. I started getting jealous of people who had gloves on, when I reached in my pocket and found gloves! I was so happy that I kept gloves in my pocket, but when I went to put them on Rob said, "Now is not the time for gloves.... gloves are for later." and for some reason I didn't question it (can you say oblivious?). We kept walking until we found a bench to sit on under these beautiful lanterns. Rob put his arm around me and asked to talk about our five year plan. I was a little confused about why he wanted to talk about our five year plan while we were surrounded by thousands of beautiful lights, until he got down on one knee and asked if I wanted to make our five year plan into a life long plan. Without hesitation I found myself saying yes and feeling overwhelmed with joy. I started to cry tears of joy, which made him almost cry too! The moment was truly magical, an unforgetable experience. That was the moment I agreed to become a part of the Adams family.

Groom

My mother had passed down a wedding ring/band to me as well as her blessing. So through the next few weeks I was researching every single proposal idea, video, and romantic spots. I had finally found the perfect spot, it would be at Brookegreen Gardens: A Night of a Thousand Candles. So on December 3rd 2016, Jess and I had gone to Brook Green Gardens. I had the ring in my pocket. It was around sunset and we had been walking around for about 20 minutes. I couldn't find the right spot... I was nervous, I was sweaty, I was holding back so many tears of happiness. Jess had mentioned it was cold and she should put her gloves on. In my head I was like "F*** no! Don't do that!!". I told her tp just give me her hands and I'd warm them up. Now was not the time for gloves, they were for later." I can't believe she bought that. Then all the lights in brooke green gardens lit up!!!! By the big tree split there were benches and it was packed so we took the side path and I asked her if we could sit down for a few minutes. We started talking about our 5 year plan involving a bigger house, paying off debt, me switching careers, etc. THEN bam, it hit me; NOW was the time to do it. While jess was in mid sentence I got down on one knee and said, "Jessica Lynn Kresse i love you to the moon and back. I dont want just a 3 or 4 or 5 year plan..... I want to make this a lifetime plan. Jessica Lynn Kresse will you marry me?" She started crying and said YES!!!!!! In that moment I trully felt love. I trully felt what it mean to be in love. Im going to marry my best friend!!!
