Bride

Kale and I were in Maui in January 2016, celebrating Christmas with family. The day started out as an early morning, waking up at 4am to head up a mountain for an amazing scenery lookout point. It was chilly and I was not looking forward to the rest of the day since we were jam packed in a seven seat minivan with seven of us. Next we went traveling down the mountain and headed toward the "Road to Hana". The idea is to drive 10 mph to experience the scenery along the way, hence there is no destination. Love my dad, but he must have not gotten the memo. Driving 30mph around windy roads with his spastic reactions was the last thing I wanted to experience since I was in the back row middle seat. FYI sister and Kale had to sit towards the front because of their nausea from car rides, so I was stuck in back. So back to the story, on this Road to Hana we made several stops. The first major stop was to the Black Sand Beach. Kale wanted to take a walk alone with me so we walked over by the blow holes. He was telling me how much he loved me and before I knew it he was on one knee holding a ring in front of me! Of course I said yes! There were many more obstacles with the day but nothing bothered me because I knew this was the start of a life with the one I love.

It was a picturesque scene with the pacific ocean in the background.  i panicked, dropped to a knee, and proceeded to stumble over my words. After sitting there for what seemed like an eternatiy with no answer, my only thought was "had i said actual words? Did she understand me?" To my surprise she said yes.
