I had planned to propose on our 1 year anniversary trip to Cabo 3 months ahead of time. So I went ring shopping without her. I didn't realize how hard it was to pick a ring. But after 6 hrs in the store an amazing ring was created. So I was holding and hiding the ring and looking at it every day and it dawned on me if I had the correct ring size. So I stole (lol) her favorite ring and had her engagement ring sized to her favorite ring.
Phase 2:
After hiding the ring for 2.5 months. It was time to start packing for Cabo. I packed and she went through my luggage to make sure I had everything I was supposed to bring. Right before leaving I stuffed the ring in my shoes that I packed in my carry on luggage. I was nervous that TSA was going to ruin my surprise, but it managed to slip pass them like bombs do. (Lol) So I was happy and excited.
Phase 3:
As soon as we got to our hotel in Cabo I got with the hotel staff and arranged a beach dinner 3 days later for our 1 year anniversary. I told her about the beach dinner and I down played it as just a regular dinner. The staff had no idea what my plan was but they had the table setting and lighting hooked up. The view was amazing and the people passing by were excited and loving our on the beach dinner arrangements. At dinner we talked about our future and our amazing vacation while gazing at the most amazing and romantic view. After dinner I suggested we move to the chairs they setup for us by the fire pit. As we sat talking and enjoying the scenery I pulled out the ring box and sat it on the table. She said, what's that? I said, a box for which I asked her to open it. She proceeded to open it and found it was empty. Confused, she said, what is the empty box for? I said, it's for you to place your favorite ring in that you always wear on your married finger. So she laughed it off and put the ring in the box. I continued talking to her about our future and about us getting married as we were watching the sunset alongside the blazing fire pit and drinking our fruity drinks. When the moment was just right I asked her to marry me. She was stunned and in disbelief and started crying. She was crying so hard I started crying. We had 2 waiters who waited on us (1 male and 1 female) hand and foot the entire dinner. They were so happy for us they began jumping up and down. The female waiter started to cry as well. It was amazing!!
