As told by Jenna.
On Friday February 12 I got home from work and walked into a display of rose petals and a note that stated "Get dressed for a night on the town, don't take too long or you'll make me frown. Objective: Go to the place we first met and find an envelope with your initials."
I drove over to Tempe Marketplace and found the envelope and more rose petals. Inside was a note that said "We met here almost two years ago, little did we know how much our love would grow. I knew I loved you when my card was gone and you went back to look for it without knowing me long." (The bartender lost his debit card the night we met, and I went back to look for it).
Drew sent me a text message that instructed me to go to the place we had our first kiss and a little bag of love would be waiting for me. I drove over to Mesa Riverview Park and found the bag and a note that said "Our first kiss was oh so sweet, I remember it as if it were last week! With our heads in the clouds and our feet in the sand, I knew you were my girl and I wanted to be your man"
I received a text from Drew telling me to head to our favorite hangout spot, on top of the Gilbert parking garage. When the elevator doors opened, I was welcomed with a path a rose petals, a photographer, and Drew waiting for me in the bright lights. He read all the notes he left for me, and then read one last note: "Finally your eyes are here for me to see, I love it when you laugh so hard you almost pee. Jenna Renee Hornbeck will you marry me?" He bent down on one knee pulled out the most beautiful ring and of course I said yes!
We went over to Barrio Queen for dinner and my whole family was waiting for us! Drew had arranged for all of them to meet us there after the proposal. |
