Handsome Devil with Shaggy Hair and Guns

It was late Summer 2011 on a Saturday at the Camden Crest apartment complex pool in Raleigh.  There she was.  Poolside.  Tan.  Bikini.  Fedora hat.  Amazing smile.  It was love at first sight.

There were a dozen or so people at the pool.  The weather was awesome.  At one point she jumped into the pool to play beer pong on one of those floating tables.  Shortly after that I made my move and called dibs on the winner.  I didn't know Melissa's name at the time so I called her Lady Gaga all day (because of the fancy hat).  She barely seemed interested in me (apparently she had a boyfriend at the time), but it was a great day.

Her (and her friend) were supposed to meet me and my friends downtown later that night.  Unfortunately, they never showed.

The next day I searched through hours and hours of facebook profiles in NC with the first name, Melissa.  She was nowhere to be found.

6 months later I ran into her at Rudinos (local sports bar - thanks to a mutual friend, Gabe Jacobs).  I interupted their conversation to say hello.  She didn't even remember who I was!  I was severly dissappointed, but still I managed to get her full name this time and friend request her on facebook.

A few weeks later she sent me a random facebook message inviting me back up to Rudinos for a green beer on St Patricks Day.  I could barely believe my eyes that she had messaged me, but seeing as though I was out of town I couldn't make it.

A few weeks later I invited her out to Charlie Goodnights Comedy Club with some co-workers of mine.  It took some persuasion.  Like "what's it going to take for you to say yes" persuasion, but she finally agreed.

I picked her up from her apartment at 7pm that Saturday night.

The rest his history.

Hottie with Amazing Smile in the Fedora Hat

I'll have to admit I did not remember the first time Blake and I met as well as he did. I had a boyfriend at the time and never had a wondering eye.

6 months later he saw me at Rudinos and got all googly eyed.  He told me about how he had looked for me on facebook for hours after that day at the pool.  It was WEIRD, but sweet!

Rudinos was my local watering hole to meet friends and have fun on the weekends.  It happened to be St. Patrick's Day so they were serving green beer. YAY.  I took out my phone and got on facebook.  I started thinking about that goofy guy that stalked me out on facebook so I messaged him to come have a green beer with me (since it was St. Pattys Day after all).  I figured I would give him a chance.

Later he begged and begged me to come with him to a comedy show with his co-workers, and I immediately thought "oh boy that's a casual and fun first date!" Let's give this a shot.

When Blake picked me up for our first date (Saturday, March 31st 2012), we locked eyes and I felt as if I had known him my entire life.  I had never felt so comfortable on a first date.  That's when I realized this might be something special.

Now I love him with all of my heart and the rest is history.
