For the ceremony and reception we will be at Casa Chic, one of the Rancho San Eric properties. www.ranchosaneric.com All the homes have been reserved already by guests and family.
There are plenty of fantastic places to stay along the beach road in Tulum near Casa Chic and many within walking distance. Casa Chic is near the Sian Ka-An Bio-Sphere. The beach road is approximately 10 km long so you are only short bike or car ride away from anything on the beach road. Casa Chic is at the 10 km mark. We will send more info on sites and things to do, bike rentals, fishing trip, spa information soon.
Tulum is a very eco-friendly place so this means most places run on solar or generator. Many…in fact almost all of the hotels on Tulum beach do not have air conditioning. This is because the -almost- constant breeze off of the water and coupled with fans keeps most people perfectly comfortable. There are very few times in the year when you would need air conditioning so this is usually not a factor for people. The temperature in November will be low 70's at night and low 80's during the day. If you are cold natured bring a cover-up for the evenings.
There are hotels from $80-$400+ usd a night so whatever you fancy, you can find it. Here are some resources to help you get started.
This is an excellent website and maps with properties, ruins and travel information listed.

Note: If you are considering Ana y Jose, it is completely booked during this weekend with another wedding. You might check with them regardless in case they have a cancellation.
Transportation:
We have a good friend that has a transportation company who has put together a very good rate for transfers. The vehicles and drivers are great. A one-way transfer in a luxury SUV for up to 7 passengers is a special rate of $90.00 USD total. Round-trip is $180.
The best way to make reservations is via email and they will send a confirmation number. The reservations email is reservaciones@stecancun.com
The website www.stecancun.com and mobile phone 011 +52 998 845.8170 (I am pretty sure you should dial "1" after the 52 for mobile numbers in Mexico) Mention that you are coming to the wedding and they will give you the special rate.
If you plan on renting a car to drive to Tulum you can do that from the airport or for daily excursions, downtown Tulum has rental car options. There are two police stops on the way to Tulum, it is standard so do not be alarmed or worried, but be sure to follow the same rules that apply in the US, no open containers etc.
There are bike rentals in downtown Tulum and on the beach road as well as taxis to take. There's a safe bike path from the beach to downtown. I believe there is a shuttle available also. You probably will not need a car, unless you plan to explore outside the area; which we certainly did while visiting. There are multiple principal Cenotes in the Tulum and other areas including on the way to the ruins in Coba.
Tulum, an hour and a half to two-hour drive (about 80 miles or 130 km) from Cancun International Airport, turn right onto the airport access road, and right again to filter onto Highway 307. You should now be heading south on Highway 307. You will pass the towns of Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras and Akumal. Right before Tulum downtown, you will arrive at the intersection with the road to Coba (at this traffic light, you will see a San Francisco de Asis supermarket and Hertz car rental on your right, and a 7-eleven on your left). Turn left, towards the ocean. Continue until you come to a T-junction (you will see Blue Tulum Hotel & Spa). Turn right. You will now be traveling south, along the beach, on the road that heads to Punta Allen. Most of the properties suggested above are at the 8-10 km mark on the beach road. Casa Chic is near the 10 km marker right near the Sian Ka-an Park Entrance, if you get to the arch at the park entrance then, you have gone too far. Back up about 200 meters to the entrance of Rancho San Eric where there's a gate to enter and get to Casa Chic. We will have the gate marked so everyone can easily find it for the wedding or to come get your guest bag or just hang out on the beach together. More details to come later.
