Kelly never quite knew when he was going to pop the question but he knew she was the one. So, He bought a ring while in Oklahoma City and hid it in a safety deposit box; waiting for the right moment. Tiffany was living her normal day to day life completely oblivious to the fact that Kelly would soon be asking her the question every girl waits for their whole life.

 Kelly wasn’t sure how or where to ask. Until Tiffany came to him 4 months later and said “I bought a Groupon for us to go to Catalina Island.” He knew that would be the perfect place so, the planning began.  They planned for a 5 day vacation full of activities, romantic dinners and beautiful site seeing. Keeping up with tradition Kelly asked Tiffanys dad, Jeff, for her hand in marriage prior to their vacation. Jeff was very thankful that Kelly had asked and he knew Kelly was the one for his little girl; Jeff said yes and Kelly was one step closer.

Tiffany and Kelly, on their first day of vacation, felt like sardines while riding the crowded boat to the island. Tiffany still completely unaware of Kelly’s plans was squashed between Kelly and other passengers on the boat with barley any room to move. All of a sudden the captain came over the loud speaker and congratulated a couple who just got engaged on the boat. Unknowing there was a ring in Kelly’s pocket Tiffany leaned over and jokingly said to him “I can’t believe someone would propose here!.... if you ever propose to me in a crowded dumb like this I’m leaving you.”  Kelly laughed about the situation, yet he couldn’t help but feel more pressure for the daunting question to come.

It was late in the day once they finally got to the island and checked into the hotel. So they decided to get a small bite to eat, just relax by the Jacuzzi, and go to sleep.  The next few days they had rented a golf cart and were able to go all around the main city. Some of their best memories on the island were riding in the golf cart. They got to see parts of the island that others could not thanks to that golf kart. It took them to amazing viewpoints high above the city. Tiffany could have thought of several places that Kelly could have proposed but he had other plans. At some point during their trip they went to this wonderful candlelight restaurant. There was soft music playing in the background and they got a table right next to the window looking out at the ocean. It couldn’t have been a better opportunity for Kelly to pop the question. But, he didn’t.  At another point during their trip they went on a tour that took them far far away from the city.  The tour ended at the islands very small airport located 1,602 feet above sea level. There were hiking trails that took you to breathtaking views of the island. It was an absolutely beautiful day, and another perfect opportunity. Kelly had the ring in his pocket. He was going though what he was going to say to her. He was working up the courage. Finally he was ready. He was just about to ask her when Tiffany turned to him and said “Kelly I have to go to the bathroom and I have to go now!”  At this point they were just about a mile away from the nearest bathroom and there was no way she could hold it. So Kelly help her find a hidden place she did her business and they continued with the hike. Kelly never asked and he was running out of time.

The last day of their trip came. They had just a few more hours till the boat came to pick them up. Poor Kelly had no idea what to do, he felt stupid that he hadn’t asked her yet. In a panic he knew he had to think of something fast. And he did. He suggested that they go rent a pedal boat and go hang out in the water. Tiffany loved the idea and couldn’t wait. It felt as if it was just the two of them in this huge body water. It was so quiet and peaceful as they watched the sea life swim below them. Kelly turned to tiffany and started telling her how important she was, and how beautiful she is. Tiffany was extremely confused because for those who know Kelly, know he is not a romantic guy is the slightest.  She looked at him with this “what the heck is wrong with you face?” and that’s when it happened, pull pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked her “Tiffany, will you marry me?”  Tiffany just about fell out of the boat from shock! She didn’t say yes right away, she couldn’t believe what was happing. She was just speechless. Kelly asked her one more time “Tiffany will you marry me?” She screamed “oh my god Kelly, oh my god yes!” she leaned over both their eyes in tears and gave him a huge hug. As he slipped the ring on her finger she was so worried about the boat tipping and losing it in the ocean. Once that ring was on her finger she held on to it for dear life. They paddled back to shore and shared a bottle of champagne on the beach and waited for the boat.

Even though the boat was packed in again Tiffany and Kelly didn’t seem to mind. They just sat there squashed together with their arms wrapped around each other starring at the ring on her finger, knowing that they have found true everlasting love.
