Octavia and Andrey first met on the campus of NJIT at CrabFest on July 9, 2011. Though it may not have been love at first sight for the both of them (Andrey thought Octavia looked like a high school student while Octavia thought Andrey was very good looking) their attraction flourished during a number of dates, bowling games, and late night talks on a football field. 

After two years of courting, Andrey was ready to ask Octavia for her hand in marriage.  Knowing about Octavia's infatuation with a certain landmark in New York City, Andrey devised an ingenious plan to ask Octavia to marry him.  On August 22, 2013, on top of the Empire State Building, he proposed to her beneath the glow of purple and pink lights. Octavia said yes and Andrey announced to those who weren't already watching the wonderful news.
