Welcome

I love music, movies, photography and traveling.  While I have been to Europe already, being able to go with my new wife makes me feel like it will be the first time all over again.

I was born in Iowa City, Iowa (where else?) on March 25th 1979.  I spent a few years in Marshalltown, Iowa before moving onto Florida for two years, Arizona, California, and eventually back to Iowa.

In 1992 I was reunited with my mother, Barbara.  I was also greeted with seeing my beautiful sister Chelsea, and got to meet my future stepfather, Dean.

After graduating in 1997, I moved to New York for a couple of years to get a better understanding og who I was to become as an adult.  After a six month mistake in Nebraska, I moved back to Arizona for good in 2000.

I worked at Home Depot for a few years and then onto a couple of smaller jobs until I decided that I needed to pursue an actual career.  In October 2005, I began working for J.P. Morgan Chase and have been quickly working my way up the ladder to become a Business Analyst.

On August 4th, 2012, my life changed forever, for that was the day I said goodbye to sadness.

I have always had an artistc childhood with both of my parents being classical musicians. Their tours brought them to Bogota, Colombia where I was born and was raised until I was 4 years old. My mom and dad said I spoke spanish fluently when we came back to live in the states when I was 4 but unfortunately I was not able to continue keeping Spanish a part of my routine, although mom and dad are still pretty good at it! I learned to play violin very young from my mother and had the opportunity to go to many wonderful experiences with music. From Playing in Carnegie Hall New York at the age of 12 with my locaql youth symphony to spending a summer at Brevard music center in NC the summer I turned 16. Music was a huge part of growing up.

My parents always took my brother, Steve and I back to their hometown of Burlington, IA every summer and that is where I experienced all the beauty Iowa has. From exploring my Grandparents home  built in the 1850's to walking around the old down town area and driving down snake alley I loved every minute of going back every summer. This is where my love of all things old and unique started. At an early age I appreciated the beautiful old structures and even decorated my room with my great uncles bedroom set from the late 1800's when I was growing up, dad jokes still that there were many a late night helping me move my room around and redecorate as a tween and teenager. (thanks dad for always humoring me and doing all the heavy lifting!) I even retiled my bathroom during spring break when I was a teenager.

I have always loved getting my hands into creating and fixing things, or re-creating them into something entirely new. My heart was always there.

After Graduating from Dobson High School everyone thought I would go into music like my parents but I was still undecided. So instead I went straight into retail, my first real job being 18 was selling Estee Lauder at Robinson's May. What a grown up job I thought at the time! This is where I met my son's father and later married in 2001. I was blessed with my son Jonathan during this time (now almost 10 years old, where does time fly!) People change and grow and we went in sepparate directions a few years later. It was Jonny and I for quite a long time to find our own direction and to see what really would make us happy.

I continued in different customer service and retail until my dream was realized and came true. In July 2011 I eft the comfort and security of corporate retail to open my own brick and mortar  store in Chandler. I called it Green Table Gifts and I wanted it to be like all of the great little shops in Iowa. A little handmade, a little bit of antiques, and a little bit of architectual salvage. Basicly my criteria was if I liked it, it was in.

We started with 7 local artists and a van full of finds from my latest trip to Iowa. Things have grown and expanded from there, we have almost 50 local artists and I am quite busy representing the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint line in the east valley. I have been blessed to have been featured on ABC 15's Sonoran Living 3 time and have some beautiful articles written about me and my store in local newspapers. Business has been great and I have recently had my milestone of employing my 4th employee. How we have grown already in less than 2 years.

Although Sean and I met online it was like we were kindred souls right off the bat. Our first date was at a local coffee shop and we lost track of time talking for nearly 4 hours before we relized everything was closing. Everything he said was like it was coming out of my mouth and from my mind, but the clencher was when we gopt in his car to go eat dinner and he started playing Carmina Burana in his car, I thought only classical musicians knew that song! (major bonus points with my parents also) We never had a lull in the conversation and always had something to say. I knew on that first date Sean was the most incredible man I had ever met and this was something special.
We have seen eachother everyday since and everyday has been bettwer than the last. I have finally met my soulmate, my perfect match, the one I was always looking for.

Sean has changed my life already I can't wait to see what the next 50 years will be like!
