Jeff and I met in the fall of 2013 while attending Texas A&M University at Galveston. We were both sudying to be marine biologists and the only older students in a sea of 18-20 year olds. We met as lab partners every Tuesday night from 4-7pm, usually over something that needed to be dissected for a grade (not our willing choice). Over the course of the semester our friendship grew, and we started dating. By the time we graduated in 2015 (Whoop!), we were inseparable. We moved in together and a year later adopted a wonderful (devilish, annoying, awful) cat. In 2018 we saw many changes before us, Jeff was prospecting for Ph.D. positions across the country and I was looking to get out of an unfulfilling job. Jeff settled on the University of North Carolina, and I luckily found a position at nearby Duke University. Jeff was offered to help chaperone and teach a class in Greece before the big move, and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to finally travel to my dream vacation spot. Jeff and I booked our trip the week before his class started and had a wonderful time. While in Santorini, Jeff proposed and I said yes to make it official! Now living in North Carolina, both Jeff and I are starting a new chapter in our lives and are looking forward to tying the knot November 2, 2019 in Seattle Washington at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. |
