Bride

Will's proposal was perfect and thoughtful! He had arranged ahead of time for my boss to give me a half day off, so he came to pick me up at lunch. He brought me a bouquet of flowers as he came in. We walked down the street to Mordecai's, the local, moderately upscale restaurant, and the hostess seated us in this corner booth. As we were getting ready to order, he told me he had to ask me something. I was holding my breath, hoping that it was about to happen! He shared with me the sweet and loving testament of his love for me, got down on his knee, and asked me to be his wife. I could only nod my head yes! He slid the most perfect ring in the world on my finger, and he was so nervous that he could hardly slide it on for his shaking hands! He had also pre-arranged for the hostess to catch pictures of the moment, which I am so grateful for! I get to look back on one of the happiest moments of my life!

The day that I proposed was, as expected, utterly insane. I arrived earlier than intended for lunch, missing my mark by about 30 minutes. This meant that there was next to no one in the restaurant by the time that Tana and I got there, which sort of ruined the image I had in my head of standing ovations, cheering, whooping, and general merriment. So, this on my mind, we walked into Mordecai's, shuffled over to our corner booth, and sat down. As we sat, the hostess slipped to me the ring that I had given her earlier, so it wouldn't be obvious in my pocket.

The day before, I had prepared an entire speech that I had planned to recite while down on my knee. As it was, though, it went entirely out of my head as I began to speak. This is probably a good thing, seeing as how tiresome it would've been for her to listen to a speech before getting to hear me ask 'the question.' So, I simply told her the truth. The simple, ineloquent truth: that I love her.

After mumbling my way through that and almost dropping the ring while putting it on her finger we took some pictures, made the necessary phone calls and facebook posts, and only sort of ate our lunch. It wasabsolutely the best day of my life to this point.
