Bride

Our story begins the same way many love stories begin in this day and age... online. We both found it increasingly difficult to meet quality people in our everyday lives, so we each signed up with Black People Meet. I had a successful career, but work took up a lot of my time. So, I really took the online option seriously. I put a lot of thought into my profile and was very transparent about what I was looking for. When Orlando came across my profile he reached out to see if I was open to communicating and getting to know one another better. However, other than a few pictures his profile was blank and this gave me cause to pause. I assumed he was not serious in his search for companionship because it appeared that very little effort had been put forth. I was apprehensive, so I politely declined. I'm so glad that our story doesn't end there. I could have missed out on the love of my life!

Groom

I tried to convince her to change her mind and give me a chance, but she wasn't going for it. So, I let it go and kept it pushing. A few months later, I came across her profile a second time, so I got at her again. This time she said, "OK." We talked and texted for a week or so. She seemed real cool, so I asked her to meet me at Starbucks. When she walked in I knew she was gonna be my girl. She was pretty and sexy. She won all the physical appearance categories. As we started to hang out I figured out quickly that she had a good mind and a great heart, too. You can't get any better than that. At that point it was a done deal for me and we've been rockin' together ever since. I told the fellas, "I'm gonna do what Beyonce said and put a ring on it." There's no reason to wait when you find someone like her.
