Thomas and I have been friends since we were 19 years old. We were good friends for a long time before deciding to date. We dated for a few years and we were young we did wild and crazy things together, we enjoyed each other company, we talked every single night on the phone (ask our parents about our phone bills), even though Thomas has always lived in the Twin Cities area and I in the mid-west of Minnesota we would try and see each other every chance we got. Probably one of our favorite memories together as young adults was going to the heart of Mexico to Thomas' family wedding. We road tripped to Mexico (long drive straight down 35W), I experienced the biggest cultural shock ever (never left USA before) and Thomas was by my side the whole time doing the best to make sure we had a fun trip, and with every trip comes different adventures, just ask one of us we got funny stories to tell about that trip!
However after a few years of dating and due to different life circumstances we went our spare ways, but we remained friends over the years.
Thomas and I are truly best friends, and that is still true today! I say we are best friends because it’s never matter how much time had gone by since we last seen each other over the years, every time we would hang out it was like no time had ever pasted. Whenever we would see each other neither of us ever felt awkward or uncomfortable, our relationship has away felt natural like we have found "the one".
In December 2015, we reconnect again and decided to hang out in Minneapolis and go to the "Minneapolis Institute of Art Museum" and then check out the Uptown Minneapolis areas (one of my favorite spots in the Cities). As usual we picked and talked all day about everything going on in our lives, and we haven't stopped talking since, we still talk every night! We both decided we weren't getting any younger, and we have always had a deep care and connection for one another, why waste any more time, it was time to give us one more go around and we haven't regretted it for one moment! We are also older and more mature (this is big help too).
On June 18th, 2016, to my surprise Thomas got down on one knee at the Minnesota University Arboretum on one of the hottest days of the year 96 degrees and 100% humidity and asked for my hand in marriage in front of my dad, step-mother, and Hailie! My parents were visiting from Maine and hanging out with us before Hailie’s surgery for week. I couldn't believe his dedication and courage to ask me in front of my parents and Hailie. Thomas is a kind honorable man, and my best friends and without hesitation I said "yes"! Man you wouldn't believe the smiles on all our faces especially Hailie’s she was beaming with smiles. It was one of the happiest moments in our lives.
And here we are today planning and preparing for our Destination Wedding in Outer Banks of North Carolina in a small romantic town of Corolla, NC with wild ponies and the most beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. That right this bride is having her dream oceanfront wedding! On September 22, 2017 we will be exchange our vows of marriage and we hope you can come and share the moment with us, each and every one of you hold a special spot in our lives and hearts and we would be honored to have your presence at our wedding.
