Two of a kind, Daryl and I met at the World Aquaculture Triennial Meeting in San Antonio, TX in 2007. We only got to talk a little bit at the infamous LSU Friends and Alumni Event. A few weeks later Daryl, working on his Masters in Arkansas, drove 7 hours down to Baton Rouge for what I thought was a tour of LSU, where I was working on my PhD. Really it was just an excuse to see me, and after a magical kiss on the Putt-Putt course in Baton Rouge we've been madly in love ever since. However, we were so far apart, we made trips back and forth, and met in the middle many times. We got engaged on New Year's Eve when Daryl got down on one knee in a jazz club in Denver (his home town) shortly after midnight. The band played over the count down, which threw off his plans so he just got down on one knee right on the dance floor. Of course I said "Yes!After almost 2 years of being apart we both moved to South Carolina to be together, where we currently reside and our working hard on planning our future together.
St. Augustine holds a special place in my heart being a quaint little town that I frequented during my college days and a combination of all the things I've loved of all the places I've lived. It has the friendly people I miss from TN, the sun of Florida, and the history and architecture I came to love in Louisiana, all rolled into a small little fishing village, with great views and lots to do! The wedding will be in the courtyard of the Historic Hilton Bayfront, a stones throw away from Fort Matanzas National Monument.
The reception will be held at the Hilton Historic Bayfront ballroom.

There are two airports in the area Jacksonville (JAX) or Orlando (MCO).
The Jacksonville airport is approximately 1 hour away from St. Augustine.
The Orlando airport is about 2 hours away.
We have rooms blocked at the Historic Hilton Bayfront where the wedding is being held, but we also have rooms blocked at the Quality Inn a mile down the road. The Quality in is more economical and offers free breakfast, and complimentary shuttle to the wedding. I've also booked rooms at the Comfort Inn walking distance from the Hilton, it's priced in between Hilton and the Quality Inn. When booking ask for the Maxwell-Weldon wedding to get the group rate.
