Sara: Eric and I met through a mutual friend while we both worked for PG County Schools in Maryland. We immediately connected over our interest in underground hip-hop. One of my first memories of time spent alone together was listening to a Jurassic 5 CD in my car together. We were friends for awhile, then eventually Eric's wit and charm (and the Eric smile) won me over and we began dating. I was impressed by Eric's genuine character and honesty, and I soon knew that he was the right man for me. The time we have spent together so far has been amazing. We have enjoyed adventures to Mexico and Costa Rica and taken trips by car and plane all over the country. When Eric decided he was going to grad school, we decided to take another adventure together and move to Austin. Last December, Eric proposed with a whole day of activities in DC including an art museum, glazing pottery together, and an AMAZING dinner at Vidalia. We returned to a candle and flower-filled hotel room where he used my favorite game, Scrabble, along with his own wonderful words, to propose. Of course I had to say YES! Life with Eric is an adventure and I can't wait to continue that adventure for the rest of my life!
Eric: I met Sara during our ritual Happy Hour at Hard Times Cafe. The first qualities that struck me about Sara was her extreme intelligence (she's never wrong, EVER), her unique style (she wears really hip hats and chic clothing), her eyes (gorgeous), and her confidence (this girl knows who she is). After starting to date Sara I found out more of her qualities, such as her genuine caring attitude, her honesty, and her ability to communicate openly. Despite what Sara says, I actually won her over when I took her out for escargot (her favorite food) for her birthday on our second date. After getting very close with Sara I began to realize how well we balanced each other. I can't wait to spend my life with such a beautiful person!
The wedding will take place in Austin, TX on June 20, 2010. The wedding ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm. We have chosen The House on the Hill (319 Addie Roy Rd.) as the site for the ceremony and the reception. The House on the Hill has a natural relaxing beauty that fits our personalities. The ceremony and reception will be held outside so dress for the heat. www.houseonthehillaustin.com

The driveway at House on the Hill is steep and narrow. Please use caution, drive slowly, and stay as far to the right as you can as you go up and down the driveway. There is just barely enough room for two cars to pass.

Carpooling to the wedding is a good idea (even for those who live in Austin) because the parking lot is not super large and we are expecting 100+ people.

All who are interested are invited to join us for outdoor activities during the day on Saturday, June 19th.
Important Details:
When: Saturday June 19th at 10 AM for boating, 12:00 for swimming
Where: Zilker Park 2101 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78704
What to Bring: Swimsuit, Towel, water to drink, picnic lunch (there is a concession stand at the park), cash to pay for rental or pool entry, sunscreen, anything else you wish.

The reception will be held at the same place as the ceremony. We will be serving a buffet dinner and will have music for dancing, drinks, and fun!
There is a pool for those of you who want to swim after the wedding.
Bring your suit! :-)

We have hired a 25 person shuttle to return people to the Hampton Inn after the reception. It will make one trip at 11:30 PM. The shuttle cannot make it up the steep driveway at House on the Hill so people will need to be at the bottom of the driveway at 11:30 if they want to leave this way. We want to make sure everyone gets to bed safely, even if they have been drinking. You may also call a cab to drive you if you want to stay and hang out later. We'll have cab company numbers available for you. If you need to leave a car at House on the Hill, you can arrange to pick it up before 12 PM the next day. We can also help arrange rides to and from the hotel for the wedding at other times, as many people who are coming will have cars of their own or will be renting one. Once you arrive in town, please let us know if you need a contact person for arranging a ride to or from the wedding.
For those of you who are flying in, the closest airport to us is Austin- Bergstrom International Airport. The San Antonio airport is about an hour's drive away as well.

We have booked a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn Austin- Northwest/Arboretum at a rate of $89/night including breakfast: (512) 349-9898. Please let them know you are booking the room for the Petit/ McClure wedding when you call. If you would prefer recommendations for a more upscale or budget option, please let us know. We have come to love this city and we hope that you all enjoy your time here as well!
We're heading off to explore Croatia!
For our honeymoon, we are going to explore Croatia's beaches, natural parks and culture filled cities. This will be an exciting adventure, as neither of us have been there. We are planning on seeing many parts of the country and mixing time in cities with times in natural areas. We will explore waterfalls, the beaches on the coast of the Adriatic Sea, and historic cities such as Dubrovnik. Croatia has been described as being similar to Greece with less built-up tourism, and also has a mix of Eastern and Western European Culture. We are very excited! Shared experiences are so important to us! Memories last a lifetime. We love exploring new places and having new adventures. Help us start the adventure that will be our life together off with a bang!
Eric and Sara are also registered at Bed bath and Beyond (www.bedbathandbeyond.com) and Der Kutchen Laden (www.littlechef.com).
